Monash IVF Specialist Fertility Clinician
After spending 2 years in the IVF unit of Prof. Gordts, Prof. Brosens and Dr. Campo at the Leuven Institute of Fertility and Embryology (Belgium), Dr. Rombauts returned to Melbourne in 1998 to obtain his Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). He is now accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as a training supervisor for the CREI.
Dr. Rombauts consults in Richmond, Clayton, Frankston and Seymour. He also directs clinical research projects at Monash IVF and has a special interest in mechanisms of embryo implantation.
He is a member of the Senior Medical Staff at Monash Medical Centre where he holds specialist appointments as consultant in the Reproductive Biology Unit and as reproductive micro surgeon.
He also holds an appointment as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash University, where he is currently leading research teams involved in the study of endometriosis and female infertility. In 2002, Dr. Rombauts founded AWARE (Australian Working-party to Advance Research into Endometriosis) of which he is the current chairman. He is also a board member of the World Endometriosis Society.
