Professor David Healy
BMedSci, MBBS (Hons),PhD, FRANZCOG, FRCOG (Hons) CREI Monash IVF Specialist Fertility Clinician

 

Professor David Healy is the Chairman of the Monash University Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Professor Healy is Head of the Reproductive Biology Unit at Monash Medical Centre. Professor Healy is a graduate of Monash University where he received the Senior Medical Staff prize in 1973.

He completed his PhD on Prolactin at Monash in 1979. Professor Healy trained at the Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne and then completed his Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialty training at the National Institutes of Health, USA and at Edinburgh, Scotland. In 1985, Professor Healy became the first Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to be awarded a Welcome Trust Senior Clinical Research Fellowship.

Professor Healy has published 249 research articles and written 6 books. Publications include the New England Journal of Medicine on the Endocrinology of IVF and the Lancet on Cancer in Women after Infertility and IVF. Professor Healy is a Senior Examiner in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and for the Australian Medical Council. He has been President of the Fertility Society of Australia. Professor Healy is Chairman of the Australian and New Zealand University Departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Professor Healy is President Elect of the  International Federation of Fertility Societies. Professor Healy was awarded Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College in 2002 for these achievements.

Professor Healy has been a Specialist Fertility Clinician at Monash IVF since 1985. He is head of the Monash IVF Casterton clinic servicing Mt Gambier, Warrnambool, Horsham, Casterton and Hamilton.
